WOKHA — An English language novel, ‘Nonpareille’, authored by Sentsudy PB Sen Yanthan, was launched by Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan at VDB Hall in Wokha on March 20.
Sharing his journey, the author said he began writing the novel last year and that the process brought both encouragement and moments of doubt. He added that he chose to turn his limitations into strengths.
Dedicated to his late father, the Christianity-themed novel celebrates family, faith, and the human spirit. It captures youthful ambition, moral clarity, and the power of choices while honouring friendship, family bonds, and community.

Special guest Yanthan described the occasion as significant, noting that writing requires imagination and perseverance. He remarked that the title “Nonpareille”, meaning "unmatched", is unique and appealing.
Stressing the importance of reading, he observed that while digital content dominates today, nothing can replace the experience of reading physical books. He encouraged the younger generation to cultivate the habit of reading newspapers and books, pointing out that readership has declined in recent times.
Yanthan further urged the author to continue writing, noting that there are few writers in the Lotha community. He highlighted the need to nurture God-given talents and encouraged writers to produce works in the Lotha dialect, following spellings approved by the literature committee.
The book will be available at Oren Book Stall and Nonghothüng Publication in Wokha and 6th Finger Publisher in Kohima.
