DIMAPUR — A sensitisation workshop for police personnel on preventing and combating child trafficking was held at DC's conference hall, Phek, on March 19.
According to a DIPR report, the programme was organised by the district administration in collaboration with District Child Protect Unit (DCPU) and District Legal Services Authority, Phek.
Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, in his keynote address, stated that child trafficking is the gravest violations of human rights and urged all the stakeholders, particularly the law enforcing agency and the Police department to effectively halt and discourage such activities.

Chief legal aid defence counsel (DLSA) Phek, Vethothi Vero spoke on human trafficking, while retainer lawyer Sekhotso spoke on Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
A short speech on the activities of police force as stakeholder department was proposed by SDPO Phek, Khuza Jurry.
Zapocho Tetseo from District Child Welfare Programme, Phek, chaired the programme and delivered the welcome address.
The vote of thanks was delivered by EAC Phek, Imnasenla Walling.
