DIMAPUR — On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, a sensitisation programme on oral health was conducted under the National Oral Health Programme at Community Health Centre (CHC), Tamlu, in Longleng district on March 20.
The programme was held on the theme “A happy mouth is a happy life”, stressing the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene for overall health and well-being.
Health staff from CHC Tamlu and Kangching Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) participated in the session, stated an update.

Dr. Nichukholie Vupru, Senior Dental Surgeon at District Hospital Longleng, served as the spokesperson for the programme. He highlighted the significance of regular dental check-ups, proper brushing techniques, and the early detection of oral diseases.
He also stressed the link between oral health and general health, encouraging healthcare workers to be role models and to spread awareness within their communities.
The session included interactive discussions, awareness talks, and practical guidance aimed at strengthening preventive oral healthcare practices.
