West, North, and Central zones clinched big victories in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy matches held in Sovima.

DIMAPUR — The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy witnessed dominant performances from West Zone, North Zone, and Central Zone, each securing comprehensive victories in their respective matches held at the Sovima Cricket Ground and Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, on Tuesday.
According to an update, at the Sovima Cricket Ground, West Zone defeated North East Zone by 126 runs. At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, North Zone outplayed South Zone by 96 runs, while Central Zone overcame East Zone by 40 runs.
Batting first after being put in, West Zone piled up 201 for 4 in their 20 overs, powered by a scintillating century from K P Navgire, who struck 112 runs off just 58 balls, peppered with boundaries and sixes.
She was well supported by A A Patil, who remained unbeaten on 44 off 28 balls, ensuring West Zone crossed the 200-run mark.
For North East Zone, bowlers S Jaba (1/21) and Primula (1/30) delivered disciplined spells but could do little to contain the onslaught.

In reply, North East Zone could manage only 75 for 8 in their 20 overs, with D D Dutta top-scoring with 23 off 32 balls. West Zone’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings, with A A Patil leading the attack with figures of 2 for 13.
Navgire was named Player of the Match for her explosive knock.
At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, after being asked to bat first, North Zone posted 152 for 5 in their 20 overs. Deeya Yadav anchored the innings with a superb 67 off 47 balls. Despite commendable efforts from South Zone’s bowlers, particularly C Prathyusha (2/20) and Sahana S Pawar (2/40), North Zone maintained control throughout their inning.
In pursuit of 153, South Zone’s batting line-up faltered under pressure, folding for 56 runs in 14.3 overs. Apart from Prathyusha, who scored 14 off 20 balls, none of the batters could offer resistance.
North Zone’s bowlers dominated, with Amandeep Kaur claiming 3 for 9, supported by Nazma (2/10) and Mannat Kashyap (2/14), who dismantled South Zone’s middle order.
Yadav was adjudged Player of the Match for her match-winning inning.
In another match held at the same venue, Central Zone defeated East Zone. Batting first after being sent in, Central Zone posted 148 for 5 in 20 overs, thanks to a composed innings from D D Kasat, who scored 49 off 42 deliveries. East Zone’s bowlers kept a check on the run rate, with Sushree Dibyadarshini finishing as the most effective bowler, claiming 2 for 28 from her four overs.
Chasing 149 for victory, East Zone were bowled out for 108 in 18.5 overs. Priyanka Luthra (23 off 26) and Jintimani Kalita (22 off 12) provided brief resistance, but wickets fell at regular intervals.
Central Zone’s bowlers dominated the innings, led by Vaishnavi Sharma’s outstanding spell of 4 for 20 in 3.5 overs. She received solid support from Simran Dil Bahadur, who took 2 for 11 in three overs.
Vaishnavi Sharma was named Player of the Match for her impressive bowling performance.
