Two-day training on ethics and values in public governance begins at ATI Kohima for senior Nagaland officers.

DIMAPUR — A two-day training on ‘Ethics and values in public governance’ for senior level government officers commenced at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, on Thursday.
The training programme is being attended by 25 NCS and NSS officers in the rank of joint secretary and additional secretary of the Government of Nagaland, a DIPR report stated.
The training is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Government of Nagaland, and the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), New Delhi.
Director General of ATI and Agricultural Production Commissioner V Shashank Shekhar, in his address, exhorted the officer trainees to set an example of integrity as they hold more responsibilities in the state government.

He also reminded them of their obligations as those occupying responsible government positions to find solutions to the various problems faced by society and to ensure that the government machinery functions efficiently for the welfare of the common people.
He noted that any deviation from the government code of ethics can lead to an undesirable situation where government funds do not reach the most deserving and vulnerable sections of society. He said this will be an offence not only in the legal sense but also in terms of moral and social values.
A brief overview of the course was given by Inderjeet Mittal, Director (Retd), GoI and guest faculty, ISTM, New Delhi.
The training module will cover topics on framework of ethical governance, care for and integration with self, others and environment, and ethical dilemma.
The inaugural programme of the training was chaired by Bendanglila, Additional Director (Admin) ATI & Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland.
