  • DIMAPUR — In response to a complaint filed on May 24 by Mughato Chophy, finance kilonser of NSCN/GPRN (Reformation), the Dimapur Police, in coordination with the Indian Reserve Battalion, Special Task Force, and Assam Rifles, conducted raids on the residences of several high-ranking members of the Khango-led NSCN/GPRN, including its vice president, Khekato Kinny, in Thilixu village on the night of May 26 around 7 and 8 pm.

  • While no arms or ammunition were recovered during the raids, two individuals were taken from Khekato Kinny's residence and later released after being interrogated.

  • This was confirmed by the Dimapur Commissioner of Police, Kevithuto Sophie, who stated that the ceasefire monitoring office of the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) group was cordoned off by the Dimapur Police along with personnel from the Indian Reserve Battalion, Special Task Force, and Assam Rifles. He informed that security forces are currently maintaining the cordon, restricting entry and exit from the premises.

  • Sophie firmly asserted that gun culture will not be tolerated in Dimapur, regardless of the individuals or groups involved. He emphasised that anyone engaging in criminal activities would be treated as a criminal, without exception.

  • Sophie informed that on May 24, Mughato Chophy had filed a complaint at the Diphupar Police Station in Chümoukedima against Khekato Kinny, vice president of NSCN/GPRN (Khango), in connection with an alleged unlawful raid conducted at his residence on May 23.

  • According to the complaint, Khekato Kinny, accompanied by approximately 30 cadres, forcibly entered Chophy’s private residence by breaching the wall and overpowering the security guards with fully loaded automatic weapons.

  • The complaint alleged that weapons belonging to several NSCN (R) members were stolen, while family members inside the premises were threatened at gunpoint, and their mobile phones were confiscated. It also mentioned that several rounds were fired before the group fled the scene.
