DIMAPUR — The second edition of ‘Unscripted’, an initiative of the Writers Collective, was held at St. Xavier College, Jalukie, on March 31, featuring Kevipele Iheilung, storyteller and community leader.
During the storytelling session, Iheilung, who also currently serves as President of Benreu Lui Baudi, extensively dwelt on Naga history as witnessed during the fifties and sixties.
According to an update, he particularly gave insights into the history and culture of the Zeliang tribe, featuring details of the formation of Zeliang villages, among others.
Dr Vizovono Elizabeth, General Secretary of Writers Collective, highlighted that Unscripted is a new initiative of the Writers Collective towards making Naga literature more inclusive by including various forms of art while noting that oral storytelling still exists.

In her closing remarks, Vishü Rita Krocha, President of Writers Collective, remarked that the storyteller has given deeper meaning to stories while exuding hope that the gathering has been enriched, inspired and empowered with all the interesting insights and facts as highlighted by the storyteller.
Three students, including Kewiphui, Kewiphui Namdau and Gaanchuilu from the Department of English, also shared poetry.
