PM SHRI GHS Yangphi in Kiphire hosted its Science and Maths Fair 2026 to foster innovation.

DIMAPUR — The mathematics and science teachers of Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) Government High School (GHS) Yangphi, Kiphire, organised the Science and Maths Fair 2026 on June 20 on the theme, “Think like a scientist, solve like a mathematician, create for a better tomorrow."
According to an update, the event aimed to foster scientific temper, mathematical reasoning, creativity, and innovation among students while providing them with a platform to showcase their talents and ideas.
The programme was attended by S Thsaliba Sangtam, Junior Engineer in the Department of Power, Kiphire, as the special guest.
In his address, the special guest congratulated the school for organising the event. He appreciated the initiative, stating that such events not only promote scientific creativity among students but also help nurture a scientific temperament and positive scientific behaviour.

He encouraged the participants by citing the example of Thomas Alva Edison, whose perseverance, curiosity, and countless experiments ultimately led to inventions that changed the world. He urged the students to remain inquisitive, work hard, and never be discouraged by failures, as they are stepping stones to success.
A total of ten teams, comprising participants from both the junior and senior categories, competed in the science exhibition competition.
After evaluation based on creativity, scientific accuracy, presentation, and utility, Team Eta was adjudged the winner in the senior category, while Team Mu emerged victorious in the junior category.
The mathematics quiz competition also took place. In the senior category, Team Blue Polygons secured the first prize, while Team Red Integers claimed the top position in the junior category.
