The Department of School Education conducts a three-day Academic Lead Workshop for Lighthouse School Complex teachers.

DIMAPUR — The Department of School Education under the Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR), with support from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), conducted a three-day Academic Lead Workshop for teachers and school heads from all 17 Lighthouse School Complexes (LSCs) from June 17 to the 19th at SCERT, Kohima.
The workshop was initiated as part of the School Transformation Strategy that is being implemented in the LSC "hub and spoke" schools to strengthen instructional leadership and support the effective implementation of the Annual Curriculum and Pedagogical Plan (ACPP), stated an update.
Conducted for 73 Academic Leads, the capacity building programme included sessions on ACPP design, tools for academic monitoring, the quarterly review mechanism, teacher mentorship, academic and co-curricular activities, and leadership.
During the inaugural programme, Joint Director of the Directorate of School Education, Sentinenla, introduced the objectives of the workshop, which are to strengthen teaching and learning, inculcate reflection and improvement, and develop a vision for the future.
Delivering the welcome note, Joint Director of SCERT, Vikedono Sesa, stated that LSCs are not limited to physical infrastructure but also serve to improve teaching and learning practices.
On the concluding day, Principal Director of the Directorate of School Education and Project Director of NECTAR, Shashank Pratap Singh, stated that good results can be achieved despite infrastructural deficiencies, as demonstrated by some toppers from remote areas.
