- DIMAPUR — The School of Agricultural Sciences
(SAS), Medziphema campus, hosted its 31st Parting Social on May 16 in the
multipurpose hall, bidding farewell to the outgoing batch of students of
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agriculture 4th Year, Bachelor of Vocation 3rd
Year, and Master of Science (Honours).
- According to a press release, the event was attended by Dr. Tinojongshi
Chang, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, as the special guest.
- Dr. Chang addressed the outgoing students, emphasising that
they are now entering a crucial new phase of life, where independence and
self-direction are essential. Life, he reminded them, is a continuous learning
process filled with challenges that shape personal and professional growth.
- He encouraged students to set clear goals, especially in
today’s competitive world. As agriculture students, he noted, they hold an
important role in contributing to the economy and uplifting farming
communities. He also stressed the importance of bringing agricultural knowledge
to the grassroots level.
- The welcome address was delivered by Prof. L Daiho, Dean,
Nagaland University, SAS, who congratulated the outgoing students on their
accomplishments and reminded them to uphold the values of the institution as
they step into the world.
