- DIMAPUR — Sao
Chang College and Modern College held farewell programmes on Wednesday to bid
farewell to their staff and graduating students.
- Sao Chang College: Sao Chang College organised a farewell
programme for Dr. Iris Odyuo, associate professor, and Tomukam Chang,
groundsman.
- An update said that Dr. Iris joined Sao Chang College as an
assistant professor in the Department of History in 1991 and, after serving for
33 years, retired as associate professor on March 30.

- Dr. Lanurenla, principal of Sao Chang College, in her
speech, mentioned that Dr. Iris was not only a teacher but also a scholar.
During her time at the college, she contributed immensely to its welfare and
progress.
- The principal also highlighted the achievements of the
outgoing officer, noting that she had presented numerous papers both abroad and
in India, in addition to her artistic accomplishments.
- In her farewell speech, Dr. Iris Odyuo encouraged the
faculty and staff to respect their profession and to be open to learning,
re-learning, and unlearning.
- Modern College: Modern College held a farewell programme for
its graduating students at the college’s indoor stadium.
- According to an update on the occasion, speeches
representing both juniors and seniors were delivered by Rokosalie Kuotsu (BA
4th Semester) and Chunthungo Patton (BA 6th Semester), respectively.
- Chanini Lokho, executive director of the college, delivered
an exhortation urging the students to remain steadfast, courageous, and
committed as they move forward in life.
