celebrated “literary day” at the college's multipurpose hall on April 12.
- The event brought together students and faculty in a
celebration of literary and cultural expression aimed at fostering holistic
student development, according to a press release.
- On the occasion, Dr. T Lal Veda Chandra Kumar, vice
principal of Sao Chang College, addressed the gathering as the event's speaker.
- In his keynote message, he highlighted the role of
co-curricular activities—especially literary participation—in building
leadership qualities among students. He emphasised that such engagements
enhance academic performance by fostering self-confidence, improving
communication skills, and preparing students to handle real-life situations
with resilience.
- “Participation in literary events not only refines one’s
expression but also strengthens character and life skills,” he noted.

- An adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night was presented
by BA 2nd Semester students of the English department, while Lemrila of BA 6th
Semester gave a spoken word performance.
- During the Competition Hour, students delivered extempore
speeches and performed a group rendition of the college anthem, alongside
performances by the Phut-phut Dance Crew and Yappers Dance Crew.
- Off-stage competitions in essay writing, short story
writing, and painting also took place.
