
Vice principal of IETC Seyievielo Sono along with the
resource persons and participants during the valedictory programme at SAMETI in
Medziphema on May 23.
- DIMAPUR — State
Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema,
has organised a two-day training programme on promotion of integrated farming
system in agri and allied sectors on May 22 and 23.
- An update from SAMETI stated that Dr. Aabon Yanthan,
Scientist (Horti) ICAR Research Complex, Nagaland Centre; Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie,
CTO (Animal Science) at KVK, Dimapur; and Dr. Lawrence Kithan, Scientist,
Agronomy AICRP on Kharif Pulses, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, SAS
Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, were the resource persons of the
training.

- They spoke on importance of integrated farming system in
northeast region (NER, importance of dairy under integrated farming system and
maximising resource-use efficiency with integrated farming systems.
- It stated that the participants were taken for a field visit
to Zutoi village under Aghunaqa block in Niuland district led by Tokugha Zhimo,
progressive farmer.
- The valedictory programme was chaired by Janet Chishi,
deputy project director of SAMETI. It further stated that certificates were
distributed to the trainees.
