DIMAPUR — The state level quiz competition under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) was successfully conducted by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland at TM Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima, on Friday.
Principal Director of Department of School Education, Shashank Pratap Singh, the guest of honour for the event, in his address, highlighted the importance of learning beyond the classroom and encouraged students to remain curious, innovative, and eager to explore new ideas.
He also emphasised the role of science and technology in realising the vision of Vikshit Bharat 2047, calling on students to contribute towards making Nagaland an active partner in this national mission, an update stated.

Delivering the keynote address, L Jamithung Lotha, State Mission Director, spoke on the objectives of the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan under the Ministry of Education.
He stressed the programme’s role in motivating children to pursue science, mathematics, and technology, nurturing their curiosity and spirit of innovation. Jamithung also congratulated the participants for advancing from the district level to the state-level competition.
The event was chaired by Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, who provided an overview of the competition.
She noted that the initiative is designed for elementary students from government schools with funding support from the Ministry of Education, Government of India. She encouraged students to cultivate a scientific temper and a lifelong passion for learning.
The programme also featured experience-sharing by Iris Zomawii Lushai, student of PM SHRI GHSS Chümoukedima, and Gihukali Sema, PGT of PM SHRI GHSS Chümoukedima (Supervisor for North East Circle), who had recently represented Nagaland in the SAKURA Science Programme in Japan.
Dr. Bijano Murry, Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, served as the quiz master, while Avino Tase, Deputy Director of School Education, and Rüchünino Ziephrü, Assistant Academic Officer, NBSE, were the judges.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from all 17 districts of Nagaland. The winners of the State Level Quiz Competition 2025 are Imtimenla (first position) of GHS Dilong, Mokokchung; Subeno Ngullie (second position) of GHSS Bhandari, Wokha; and Kedalu Rengma (third position) of GHSS New Town, Tseminyu.
The event concluded with words of encouragement for the students to continue their pursuit of knowledge, innovation, and excellence in the field of science and education, it stated.
