Sainik School Punglwa honours cadets for academic excellence and hosts a motivational talk by Indian Army officer Lt. Col. Akshay Singh.

DIMAPUR — Sainik School Punglwa celebrated a series of award ceremonies recognising the outstanding achievements and overall performance of cadets during a special school assembly.
According to a press release, a total of 19 cadets from classes 6 to 11 were honoured with gold, silver, and bronze awards for academic excellence in the academic session 2025-26.
The school also announced the winners of the academic excellence house awards. Shilloi house emerged as the winner in the junior category, while Doyang house bagged the senior category academic award for their consistent academic performance.
The Cock House Trophy, awarded for excellence in various fields like academics, sports, discipline, and curricular activities, was also presented. Pauna house lifted the Junior Cock House Trophy, whereas Japfu house clinched the Senior Cock House Trophy.

The principal congratulated the award winners and appreciated the efforts of the cadets and staff. She urged the cadets to strive for continuous improvement and uphold the values of the school in every sphere of life.
Earlier, on August 22, Lt. Col. Akshay Singh, Sena Medal, an officer of the Indian Army, delivered a motivational lecture for the cadets to encourage them to join the defence forces.
The officer highlighted the process of joining the defence forces and the adventurous and rewarding life that begins thereafter. He inspired the cadets by sharing his Indian Army journey, including experiences in counter-insurgency, United Nations peacekeeping in Sudan, and intelligence operations.
