Sainik School Punglwa held its Inter-House English Literary Competition showcasing cadets’ talent in poetry, declamation, and debate.

DIMAPUR — Sainik School Punglwa organised the Inter-House English Literary Competition for the academic year 2025-26 on November 8.
According to an update, the event saw participation from cadets across various houses and classes in three categories: poetry recitation, declamation, and debate.
In the poetry recitation, held for the two holding houses comprising Class 6, Vilhousietuo Kense and Rao Rhakho, both from Dzukou House, secured the first and second positions, respectively.
In the declamation, for junior houses (classes 7, 8, and 9), Pinseng Phunglo of Shilloi House and Joshua Benn Kichu of Pauna House bagged the first and second positions, respectively.

In the debate, for senior houses (classes 10, 11, and 12), Jaswant Rao of Doyang House and Cidibe Peter Mbung, who spoke in favour of the motion “AI is a boon to Human Society”, were adjudged the best debaters, while Angela Rimi Pura of Japfu House, who opposed the motion, secured the second position.
In the overall result, Shilloi House and Saramati House emerged winners in the junior and senior categories, respectively, and lifted the Inter-House English Literary Competition trophies.
Col. (Dr.) Smita Misra, principal of Sainik School Punglwa, congratulated the winners and distributed certificates, medals, and trophies, commending the students’ efforts in showcasing their literary prowess.
