SHC Khuzama, LBCD celebrate Mother's Day

Rev. Fr. C Joseph along with mothers of Sacred Heart Church during the Mother’s Day celebration in Khuzama village on Sunday.

  • DIMAPUR — Sacred Heart Church in Khuzama celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday with Rev. Fr. C Joseph, counselor at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, as the speaker.

  • In his homily, Rev. Fr. Joseph quoted Henry Ward Beecher, who once said, “When God thought of mother, He must have laughed with satisfaction and framed it quickly-so rich, so deep, so divine, so full of soul, power and beauty, was the conception.”

  • The Mother’s Day Programme featured presentation of songs, speeches and sharing of gifts etc.

  • The most important person in everyone’s life being mother, everyone in the assembly was moved by the gathering of mothers in big number. As mothers are a gift from God, the assembly prayed and thanked for motherhood, which is part of God’s original design for humans to carry out God’s purposes in the world.

  • In another programme, the Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD) also organised a special programme to honour and acknowledge all the mothers of the church during a devotional service on Sunday.

  • Re. Limhathung Lotha, pastor of LBCD, lauded the congregation for acknowledging and recognising the worth of a mother not only during Mother’s Day but in every walk of their lives. He also reminded all the mothers to further strengthen their relationship with God and to fear Him in order to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted on them.

  • LBCD choir enthralled the congregation with a song, while Rev. Yimstu said a special prayer for the mothers and Achanpeni Ngully shared experience on the life of a mother.

  • Longtsubemo Kithan read the scripture and the youth director of LBCD, Chenibemo, led the programme.
