Robbers break into Dimapur garment store, steal INR 35,000 cash; CCTV shows multiple suspects, police launch investigation into burglary case

DIMAPUR — In a burglary incident, a gang of robbers broke open the shutter of a Louis Philippe outlet at Clock Tower area in Dimapur and decamped with INR 35,000 early Saturday morning.
The incident came to light when a staff member arrived to open the store and informed the proprietor.
According to closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the burglary occurred around 4.25 am, with six to seven unidentified miscreants reportedly involved.
Reports stated that only cash amounting to INR 35,000 was stolen, while other items in the store were left untouched.

Police and a forensic team were called to the scene, and fingerprints and other evidence were collected for investigation.
A similar attempt was reportedly made at a nearby Peter England store prior to the incident, though no cash or garments were reported missing. The same gang is suspected to be involved.
