DIMAPUR — All traffic movement along Package-V of the Kohima–Jessami road has been completely restricted with effect from July 24 due to persistent landslides and rockfalls in the area.

According to the deputy commissioner of Phek, the affected stretch is currently undergoing clearance and maintenance work by the authorities concerned. The restriction will remain in force until the road is declared safe for public use.

In the meantime, the district administration has advised all travellers to take alternate routes connecting Pfutsero, Porba, Sakraba, Pholami, Khomi, Phek village, and Lanezho; or to commute via Zero Point, Chetheba Town, Runguzu Nasa, Runguzu, Thuvopisu, Surhoba, and Phek Town to reach Lanezho.

Further, the construction company KS-PIRPL (JV) has been directed to expedite the clearance work and ensure the route is made safe for vehicular movement at the earliest.
