Industries department organises workshop in Wokha to create awareness on government scheme.

DIMAPUR — With an aim to create awareness on government schemes, promote entrepreneurship and strengthen financial literacy among citizens, the Department of Industries and Commerce organised a workshop on PM Vishwakarma, banking, marketing and entrepreneurship at the conference hall of the DC’s in Wokha town on February 3.
Delivering the welcome address, the general manager of DIC, Wokha, K Myingthungo Kikon, emphasised the importance of awareness regarding schemes available to the public. He highlighted the need for citizens to understand the registration process, challenges faced in accessing loans and the opportunities offered through various government initiatives.
He also urged the participants to take advantage of those schemes to enhance livelihood and contribute to local economic growth, stressing that informed citizens are better equipped to harness opportunities for self-reliance and development, stated a DIPR report.

In the first technical session, inspector of DIC Wokha, Lirhonthung S Humtsoe, spoke on various schemes under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, outlining opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs to access support and funding.
In the second session, skill development officer, Anuranjan Singh, spoke on entrepreneurship development, e-commerce, packaging and sales strategies, wherein he encouraged the participants to adopt innovative approaches to reach wider markets.
In the third session, LDM of Wokha, C Yanthan, spoke on financial literacy focusing on credit-related issues and support available for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries.
In the fourth session, SL-PMU representative, Lohe Lokajia Victoria, explained the onboarding process and QR code generation for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries ensuring smoother access to scheme benefits.
It stated that the sessions provided participants with practical knowledge on entrepreneurship, financial management and digital integration. Besides, it also highlighted flagship programmes such as PM Vishwakarma, which supports traditional artisans and craftsmen through skill training, financial assistance and market linkages.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session, where the participants raised questions and clarified their doubts from the resource persons.
It further stated that the programme was a significant step in equipping citizens with knowledge and resources to harness government schemes, thereby fostering self-reliance, entrepreneurship and inclusive development in Wokha.
