DIMAPUR — The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team Phek, led by Medical Officer Dr. Avono Medoze, along with RBSK Coordinator Kotshou Kapfo, GNM Vekupolu and ANM Tshewekhrou, conducted a month-long medical screening tour during August.
According to a press release, it was conducted across villages in Phek district – Lozaphuhu, Losami, Phek Basa, Old Phek, and Kutsapo – and Meluri district – Matikhru, Lephori, and Reguri.
The RBSK was launched with the aim of providing quality life to children through early detection and treatment of health conditions and to reduce the burden of childhood diseases by providing free health screening.

The outreach covered government primary schools, government middle schools, government high schools, and Anganwadi centres, focusing on the early detection of the 4Ds – defects, disease, deficiencies and developmental delays – for the target age group of 0–18 years.
General health check-ups were carried out, while health talks on personal hygiene and nutrition were delivered. Medicines were dispensed for minor ailments, and cases requiring higher medical intervention were promptly referred to appropriate health facilities.
