State National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme conducts monitoring and supervision activities in Mon district.

DIMAPUR — The State National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) conducted monitoring and supervision activities in Mon district from August 27 to the 29th.
The team was headed by Dr. Imkongtemsu Longchar, SPO & Joint Director along with Dr. Tinurenla Anichari, Deputy Director; Kikolul Khieya, Asst. Director; UVBDS; state consultants; zonal entomologist and insect collectors, a DIPR report stated.
The team reviewed the preparedness of the district health units, examined surveillance records (M-formats), stock registers, and LLIN utilisation by beneficiaries.
Field visits were carried out to selected health facilities and villages to assess active and passive surveillance, case reporting, and community awareness activities.

The performance of surveillance workers and malaria technical supervisor was also assessed and overall performance of NVBDCP programme was reviewed.
The team also stressed the need to screen all migrant populations and individuals at international borders for malaria symptoms.
The entomological team also carried out vector surveillance where vector density for malaria, dengue and Japanese encephalitis was found.
Sentinel surveillance site hospital for dengue has also been set up where confirmatory test for dengue was available.
The findings were also highlighted to Dr. Supongmenla Walling, CMO Mon, emphasising the importance of sustained fever testing, timely reporting,
vector control and community engagement for malaria elimination and necessary corrective measures were recommended to strengthen the district’s readiness for malaria elimination certification.
