DIMAPUR — Nagaland is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across most districts over the next seven days, according to the latest weather forecast. The rain is due to a trough extending from the northeast Arabian Sea to a low-pressure area over south Jharkhand, along with an upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam.
Peren and Dimapur are likely to witness scattered rainfall with possible thundershowers (26%–50%) throughout the forecast period.
Most other districts, including Kohima, Phek, Mon, Kiphire, Tuensang, Mokokchung, Longleng, Zunheboto, and Wokha, will experience a mix of scattered to fairly widespread rainfall (26%–75%) during the week, with rainfall intensifying midweek.
On July 11, rainfall will be more scattered across the state, with Wokha, Mokokchung, and Longleng expected to receive only isolated showers.

From July 12 to 14, districts such as Zunheboto, Tuensang, Kohima, Mokokchung, and Mon are forecasted to receive fairly widespread rainfall (51%–75%), marking the wettest stretch of the week.
On July 15 and 16, fairly widespread rainfall is expected to continue in eastern and central districts, including Tuensang, Kiphire, and Kohima, while western districts like Wokha and Phek may see slightly reduced activity with scattered showers.
Residents across the state are advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly in areas prone to flooding or lightning, as monsoon activity continues to remain active across Northeast India.
