DIMAPUR — Continuing its effort to protect vulnerable passengers and curb human trafficking, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) rescued six minors from Dimapur railway station during a series of coordinated operations carried out between October 25 and 30.

A press release issued on Sunday stated that the operations were part of an intensified campaign to trace runaway and trafficked children across key stations in the region.

On October 25, RPF personnel from Dimapur, in coordination with the Chaparmukh team, rescued three minors—two boys and one girl—during a routine surveillance drive.

Later, between October 27 and 30, three more boys were rescued from Dimapur station in similar operations.

All the rescued children were safely handed over to Childline authorities for counselling, care and rehabilitation.

The statement added that RPF teams across Agartala, Kishanganj and Alipurduar Junction also carried out rescue operations during the same period, bringing the total number of minors rescued within NFR to ten.

Meanwhile, under the ‘Meri Saheli’ initiative—aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of women passengers, particularly those travelling alone—the RPF’s all-women squads have maintained active vigilance at Dimapur station, offering assistance and security to women travellers.

The RPF of Northeast Frontier Railway reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety through increased surveillance, timely intervention and awareness drives, with special focus on the protection of women and children.
