Niuland district administration has issued a public advisory urging residents to avoid elephant corridors amid rising wild elephant sightings and conflict risks.

DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Niuland district has advised the public to exercise caution following the continued and increasing presence of wild elephants in several locations across the district.
In a public advisory issued on Tuesday, residents were asked to refrain from venturing into known elephant corridors, forested areas and streams, particularly after daylight hours. The advisory warned that human movement in these areas could increase the risk of human-elephant conflict.

The district administration also urged the public to avoid confronting or chasing elephants, and cautioned against using loud noises or firecrackers to drive them away, stating that such actions could provoke aggression and result in harm to both people and property.
