DIMAPUR — Pro Rural, a humanitarian NGO working in different North East states, organised mobile health check-up camps in several villages of Kebai-Khelma region, Ahthibung block in Peren district, from February 4 to the 6th.
The consultant health specialists included a general medicine expert, eye-care optometrist, dental surgeon, and the district MICTC team from the Medical department, working together to provide healthcare access to underserved regions, an update from Pro Rural stated.
The mobile health camps were held at village council halls and sub-centres, and reading glasses were distributed to elderly folks with weak eyesight.
The 3-day mobile medical camps treated 267 people of different age groups, mostly elderly persons who cannot travel to towns for healthcare. The camps highlighted the need for better healthcare access in these rural areas.

The successful conduct of the camps by Pro Rural was made possible through the support and collaborative efforts of the district Medical department, which deployed nurses, ASHA workers, and the MICTC team, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening inclusive healthcare delivery in the district, the update added.
