Pranab College hosted a one-day MSME entrepreneurship awareness programme for students on August 18.

DIMAPUR — A one-day entrepreneurship awareness programme on the theme “Empowering youth, enabling enterprise” was organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development and Facilitation Office (DFO), Dimapur, on Tuesday.
According to an update, the event was held in collaboration with the Pranabnanda Education Society's Career Guidance and Counselling Cell at Pranab College.
The programme, which commenced at 10:30 am, aimed to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship, government support, financial opportunities, and the challenges involved in starting and managing enterprises.
During the technical sessions, four resource persons provided students with insights into different aspects of entrepreneurship and enterprise development.
Kapil Rai, Assistant Director of MSME DFO Dimapur, spoke on “Government schemes for entrepreneurs". He highlighted the various government schemes and support mechanisms available for aspiring entrepreneurs and stressed the importance of understanding and utilising such opportunities to develop sustainable enterprises.

The second session was conducted by Jethro Mesan, Functional Manager at the District Industries Centre (DIC) in Dimapur, who spoke on “Local policies and district-level incentives". He discussed the role of local policies and incentives in encouraging entrepreneurship and explained how district-level support can help young entrepreneurs establish and expand their ventures. This was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.
The third technical session was addressed by Aolemba, Proprietor of Country Craft, Chümoukedima, on the topic “Case studies and challenges of Start-ups in Nagaland". Drawing from practical experience, the session focused on the realities of starting a business in Nagaland, including the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and the importance of perseverance, innovation, and adaptability.
The fourth technical session was conducted by Lipokakum, Branch Manager of the Central Bank of India, Dimapur Branch, on “Financial modelling and loan processing”. He provided students with insights into financial planning, financial modelling, and the process involved in obtaining business loans, highlighting the importance of sound financial management and responsible planning.
