Mokokchung and Wokha hold closing programmes for the fortnight-long Poshan Pakhwada 2026 campaign.

DIMAPUR — The closing programmes of the Poshan Pakhwada 2026 campaigns were held in Mokokchung and Wokha on Thursday.
In Mokokchung, the programme was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.
According to a DIPR report, it was organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Mokokchung, and started on April 9 on the theme "Maintaining brain development in the first 6 years of life".
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, lauded the efforts of the officials and workers of the department for successfully undertaking activities under various schemes and policies.
He stressed the importance of child development and the role of Integrated Child Development Services in enhancing knowledge on nutrition, requesting all the ASHA and Anganwadi workers to activate their centres better.

The DC gave away the best-performing Anganwadi worker awards to Sashilemla of Changtongya village Centre C under the Changtongya Integrated Child Development Services project and Lanusangla of Anungchen Centre, Khar village, under the Mangkolemba Integrated Child Development Services project.
Meanwhile, in Wokha, the closing ceremony of the campaign was held at the VDB Hall, marking the culmination of the fortnight-long campaign aimed at promoting nutrition awareness and community participation.
Delivering a speech, District Programme Officer and Child Development Project Officer of Wokha, Bonathung Ngullie, highlighted the objectives of the campaign and expressed appreciation for the support extended by stakeholders, government departments, and community organisations.
He noted that the collective efforts had ensured the success of the programme and highlighted the importance of continuing nutrition awareness at the grassroots level.
Ngullie further encouraged Anganwadi workers, village leaders, and civil society groups to sustain the momentum by spreading knowledge on healthy diets, maternal and child nutrition, and the need for community-driven initiatives to combat malnutrition.
