A PMKVY 4.0 skill training programme to enhance vocational skills among police personnel and families began in Kohima.

DIMAPUR — A short-term skill training programme under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, aimed at enhancing vocational skills among police personnel and their families, was launched at the PBC 4th NAP Bn. Multipurpose Hall, Thizama, in Kohima on Wednesday.
The programme covers multiple units, including the 1st NAP Chümoukedima, DEF Kohima, 4th NAP Thizama, 5th NAP Phek, and DEF Mokokchung, stated an update.
The formal launch and keynote address were delivered by Rupin Sharma, Director General of Police, Nagaland, who highlighted the importance of skill development in modern policing and career growth.

A detailed briefing on PMKVY 4.0 was delivered by Pravin Yadav, State Nodal Officer, representing the National Skill Development Corporation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
As part of the initiative, a two-month training programme on mushroom cultivation will be conducted for 117 trainees, primarily aimed at supporting the families of police personnel.
Additionally, 33 police personnel will undergo specialised drone training. The broader initiative will include training across multiple trades to be conducted at five different locations for both police personnel and their families.
