MSME and DIC Tuensang conduct an awareness workshop on PM Vishwakarma scheme, highlighting credit support for artisans in 18 traditional trades.

DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce and the District Industries Centre (DIC), Tuensang, organised a one-day awareness workshop under PM Vishwakarma at the DRDA Conference Hall, Tuensang, on Wednesday.
Thungdi Chang, Inspector, DIC Tuensang, informed the artisans about various credit schemes under the Ministry of MSME and the state government.

According to a DIPR report, he urged the artisans to avail themselves of the information and seek assistance through DIC Tuensang.
He also stressed the PM Vishwakarma scheme, stating that it is a central sector scheme aimed at reorganising and empowering traditional artisans and craftspeople across the country, collectively referred to as Vishwakarma. The scheme seeks to support those engaged in 18 traditional trades, such as carpentry, basket weaving, and blacksmithing, which are deeply rooted in India's cultural and occupational heritage.
The welcome address was delivered by Khumchopi Sangtam, Functional Manager, DIC Tuensang. The programme also had an interactive session led by Auching Sonla, Area Coordinator, NSRLM, while Tovito, Field Officer, SBI Tuensang, presented on the loan component under PM Vishwakarma.
