DIMAPUR — The Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON) has deferred its ultimatum in the Pimla murder case following a meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, on Thursday.
ZYON president R John Zeliang announced that the ultimatum, which had threatened intensified and "non-peaceful" agitations if justice was not delivered by October 9, has now been put on hold.
Six months and two days after the brutal killing of a mother—whose body was discovered on April 7 between Mhaikam and Pimla villages—the case remains unresolved.
Zeliang said that following the arrival of the requested forensic report, which has been submitted to the court, a hearing will now take place.

Therefore, the proposed agitation, originally scheduled to start on October 9, has been put on hold.
He updated that the organisation, along with youth bodies, student associations, and women’s groups, met with the CP to discuss the Pimla murder case, which he described as "an up-and-down discussion."
Following the submission of the Forensic Science Laboratory report and the filing of a supplementary charge sheet in court on October 7, Zeliang said that the organisation has given authorities "a second chance, provided justice is delivered."
Zeliang highlighted a few demands: to reveal the culprit’s name publicly to satisfy the Naga community; to obtain the forensic report; and to set up a forensic lab in Nagaland.
"As requested, the forensic report has been received by the department and submitted to the court. At least we will have a court hearing first," he said.
