KOHIMA — With the objective to showcase local produce, a ‘Village Fair’ was held on Thursday at Phusachodu village local ground, Phek district, with Minister for Women Resources Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, attending the event as special guest.
Addressing the event, the minister expressed delight about the launching of the initiative “One family, one project, one entrepreneur, one prayer time.”

“This is an opportunity to strengthen our local economy, encourage local crafts, and inspire the younger generation to take pride in their heritage,” she said.
The minister assured the people that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is committed to supporting rural development.
To develop the rural populace, she said the government has initiated various programmes aimed at food security, poverty alleviation, rural infrastructure, technology dissemination in agriculture, natural resource management, and inclusive development with a focus on women, youth, and tribal communities.

“Today we are all aware that depending on government jobs is not possible,” the minister said.
Towards this, Kruse said the initiative of launching “One family, one project” was optimistic and expressed hope that it will bear fruit for the people in the days to come.

Host of the event and Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, delivered the keynote address and spoke about the launching of The Green Village Link and the movement “One family, one project; one family, one entrepreneur; and one family, one prayer,” asserting that entrepreneurship is the way out to address the already saturated government job sector.
