DIMAPUR — The Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), led by the inspection committee convener, conducted an inspection of various government departments in Longleng district to assess office functioning and staff presence during official working hours.
In a press release, the PSC stated that during the inspection, the committee observed that some departments were functioning efficiently with satisfactory staff attendance, which was encouraging and commendable.
However, the committee expressed concern that several departmental offices remained locked during working hours.
Such practices reflect serious negligence and a lack of responsibility in serving both the department and the general public of Longleng district, the student body stated.

In view of this, the PSC directed all government departments, along with their respective heads of departments, to remain stationed at their place of posting and ensure the smooth, regular, and uninterrupted functioning of their offices.
The inspection committee convener and PSC general secretary, Imkongchingba Phom, informed that inspections will continue on a regular basis and urged all departments to resume and maintain proper office functioning within this month without fail.
He further warned that the next round of inspections will be conducted more strictly.
“Any department found absent from the station, failing to function, or keeping offices locked during working hours will compel the Phom Students’ Conference to take its own course of action.
“The concerned department shall be held solely responsible for any consequences arising thereof,” the release added.
