Highlighting the importance of sports, Sharma said that it instils discipline and fitness among the youth and the general public. He appreciated the CRPF for organising such tournaments not only in Nagaland but also across the Northeast, including Manipur, under the Khelo India initiative. “This is a very good initiative by the CRPF,” he stated.
Sharma further expressed his intention to collaborate with the CRPF to enable Nagaland Police to organise similar tournaments in the future.
Stressing the importance of connecting with the public through sports, he informed that Nagaland Police recruitment has resumed after nearly four years and encouraged youth, especially sportspersons, to apply.
“We are looking forward to recruiting young boys and girls in Nagaland Police, especially sportspersons. This is a good opportunity not only to follow your passion in sports but also to build a secure future,” he said.
Explaining the recruitment process, he mentioned that 45 marks are allotted for the physical test and 40 marks for the written examination, giving an advantage to physically fit and athletic candidates. “You stand a very good chance if you are a sportsman. Please apply for the recruitment,” he urged.
The DGP also expressed appreciation to Modern College and Don Bosco School for their assistance in organising the tournament and congratulated the CRPF officers and personnel for their successful coordination.
