- DIMAPUR — Phek
Government College and Pfutsero Government College held farewell programmes for
their outgoing principals, Dr. T Tiakaba Jamir and Dr. Tialila, on May 23 and
22, respectively.
- Phek Government College: According to an update from Phek
Government College, the farewell programme was held in the conference hall to
bid farewell to Dr. Jamir, who has been transferred to Dimapur Government
College.

- On the occasion, speeches were delivered by vice principal
Shepalu Suyie, HA Kuhusu, internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) coordinator
Dr. Levinu Sakhrie, president of PGCTA Neiwe Mero, and head of the department
of Education Vevolu Khamo.
- The speakers expressed gratitude for Dr. Jamir’s leadership,
highlighting his contributions from infrastructural development to the
college’s academic milestones, including permanent affiliation with Nagaland
University and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)
accreditation (B+ grade).
- In his address, Dr. Jamir thanked the faculty, staff, and
students for their support. He expressed humility at the kind words shared and
urged the college community to continue striving for excellence under the new
leadership. He also stated that the small college community had a big impact on
his life, teaching him values and lessons to treasure.
- Pfutsero Government College: The farewell programme for the
outgoing principal of Pfutsero Government College, Dr. Tialila, who completed
an 18-month tenure, was held in the college auditorium.
- A press release from the college stated that under Dr.
Tialila’s stewardship, the college underwent significant improvements,
including renovation of the library and auditorium, institution of the Best
Performing Department Award, and launch of student-centred initiatives such as
the Earn While You Learn (EWYL) project, Yuva Tourism Hiking Club, and Project
Aspire Prep School Classes.
- She also promoted academic and co-curricular excellence
through the introduction of departmental monthly wall magazines, the colloquium
lecture series, and entrepreneurship skill development programmes.
- Additionally, she secured key collaborations by signing MoUs
with organisations such as Eagle Crest, the Research Foundation of India, and
the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre.
- In her farewell address, Dr. Tialila expressed gratitude for
the support she received and confidence in the college’s ongoing progress. She
described Pfutsero Government College as an institution close to her heart and
encouraged the community to continue striving for excellence.
- She has been transferred to Wangkhao Government College.
