DIMAPUR — The Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) discussed the closure of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Electrical office at Phek headquarters by individuals who claimed ownership of the land during its monthly meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall on Tuesday.
The matter was brought to light by the concerned SDO Electrical, Nukhosa Chizo. It was reported that the office has remained closed since February 27.
According to a DIPR report, deliberating over the issue, Rhosietho Nguori, Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Phek, who chaired the meeting, urged the concerned department officers and staff to initiate a solution.

The SDO Electrical informed the house that negotiations are currently underway with the landowners to reach an amicable settlement. Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, Mhalo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Pfutsero, advised the department to formalise an agreement in accordance with existing government policies.
The meeting also addressed the topic of Viksit Nagaland, during which Thejakhrienuo Nisa, ADC of Phek, briefed the members on a letter received from the State Planning and Transformation Department regarding the organisation of a comprehensive workshop to prepare the Vision Document for Viksit Nagaland @2047.
The house held detailed deliberations on the Vision Document for Viksit Nagaland and, subsequently, appointed one convener for each of the five pillars of the document.
The district agriculture officer of Phek was appointed as the convener for Economic Development, while the chief medical officer of Phek was named the convener for Social Development. The district forest officer of Phek was appointed as the convener for Environmental Sustainability, the executive engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Pfutsero for Infrastructure, and the ADC of Phek for Governance and Institutional Strengthening.
Zhoi Lohe, Project Director at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Phek, and Vivose Kera, Assistant Urban Development Officer of the Urban Development Department, Phek, highlighted the current activities of their respective departments through a PowerPoint presentation.
