Phek district to organise unity march to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel

DIMAPUR — In order to foster national pride, deepen civic engagement and strengthen the spirit of unity among the youth in Phek district, the District Core Committee has resolved to organise unity march on November 15 and 19 in Phek town.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its meeting held on November 6 under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner (DC) of Phek at his office’s conference hall.

An update from the DC’s office stated that unity march is being organised to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron man of India.

The first unity march for students and youth would be organised on November 15 from Clock tower to town hall in Phek town at 8 am, while the second unity march for government employees, colony/ward leaders, public and other citizens would be held on November 19 from DC’s office to public ground in Phek town from 8 am.

Besides, the committee decided to organise poster making competition on November 1, debate competition on November 10, essay writing competition on November 14 and cleanliness drive on November 15.
