DIMAPUR — The Phek District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organised a legal awareness programme at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Meluri, on Saturday.
The programme was chaired by Khotsozo Venuh, advocate, Phek, while the welcome address was delivered by Tiatemsu Aier, principal, GHSS Meluri, according to an update.
During the session, Sekhotso Rokha, retainer lawyer, Phek DLSA, spoke on the NALSA (Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace) Scheme, 2015. He sensitised the students on the importance of awareness regarding drug abuse and child safety and cautioned them not to fall victim to fraud, misuse of social media, and other related threats.

He explained how various laws function to protect individuals and society and also highlighted the issue of immoral human trafficking, urging students to remain aware and vigilant.
He encouraged them to understand their rights and responsibilities as responsible citizens and elaborated on the roles and activities of the legal services authority.
