Phek community condemns alleged attempted rape in Kizari village

DIMAPUR — The Phek Area Public Organisation (PAPO) has condemned the alleged attempt of sexual assault and physical torture committed by Hekugha Chopi of Tsutoho village, reportedly a member of NSCN (IM), against a woman who serves as a prayer house keeper in Kizari village.

In a statement, the organisation informed that the said incident took place on September 24, and it was reportedly the third attempt by the accused to rape and harm her.

While appealing to citizens to denounce the act and assist authorities in tracing the accused, the PAPO urged law enforcement agencies to arrest the suspect at the earliest and ensure that justice is served.
