DIMAPUR — The Phek Area Public Organisation (PAPO) has called upon all Naga national workers of the Naga National Council (NNC) to come together under one umbrella and unite in true spirit.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the PAPO stated that in line with the standing resolution of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), it upholds the stand of the CPO on the Naga people's movement under the NNC and supports the call to put on hold any taxation by Naga political groups.

It reaffirmed its commitment to the original principles of the NNC for which many patriots have made supreme sacrifices, urging unity for one voice and one tax in the greater interest of the Naga people.
The organisation noted that the proliferation of factions in recent times has created confusion in differentiating Naga political groups genuinely pursuing Naga aspirations and factions which came into existence for vested interests, resulting in rampant and multiple taxation which needs to be checked.
The PAPO, being a part and parcel of the CPO, stated it adheres to the standing CPO resolution to uphold the original Naga national principle of the NNC adopted on May 30, 1990, at Kikruma, reaffirmed on June 16, 1994, and therefore continues its support to the activities undertaken by the NNC in the interest of the Naga Nation.
