Poet Vishü Rita Krocha spoke at a Pfutsero Government College seminar on documenting local history and oral traditions.
DIMAPUR — Poet and author Vishü Rita Krocha encouraged the students of Pfutsero Government College to document their own stories rooted in their land through sitting and listening.
She was speaking at a seminar organised by the Department of English, Pfutsero Government College, on the theme “Voices of the hills: Where hills speak through stories, memories, and tradition” on September 2 at the college seminar hall.
Sharing from her lived experiences in the fields and in the village with her grandparents, where she discovered her love for stories, Krocha highlighted how the act of storytelling and oral traditions help shape a sense of identity and strengthen community ties.
The talk was followed by an interactive session where students raised questions related to creative writing and storytelling. The resource person also gifted copies of her books to the Department of English and its students.
