Pfütseromi village celebrates historic two-day ‘Pfütseromi Nölhi Mehpö.’

DIMAPUR — Pfütseromi village in Phek district celebrated a historic two-day ‘Pfütseromi Nölhi Mehpö’ on December 29 and the 30th, 2025, at local ground, Pfütseromi, on the theme ‘Progress through re-dedication.’
The first of its kind, the arrival programme on December 29 was chaired by Kedoungupe Ritse, co-convenor of the event while Lhiwepelo Ritse, VCC Pfütseromi, delivered the welcome note.
K Mero, ex-VCC and Rev. Dr. Coppe Mero, executive director of Resource Centre, delivered short speeches.
The programme also witnessed a ‘Pfütseromi attire display.’
Day one of the event concluded with a clan get-together followed by an extravagant Pfütseromi talent night.

On day two, Dr. Kewelelo Mero, convenor of planning & organising committee, presided over the programme, followed by the congregation exalting God through the hymnal ‘How great thou art.’
The oldest man from Pfütseromi village, Kedoutsozü Mero, pronounced an act of blessing to all Pfütseromi citizens.
Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA of 16th Pfütsero A/C delivered a speech to a mammoth gathering on December 30.
In his address, he emphasised on fostering village unity.
Mero also reiterated that protecting public properties and government offices was a must, and that the general public must ensure their effectiveness at all times.
He also highlighted the Pfütseromi Students’ Union motto, “I netho rhulo, I we rhulode” translated into English as, “Respect your village and you will be respected.”
Short speeches were delivered by Wepretso Mero, Retd. Commissioner & Secretary; Zekotso Mero, Retd, IGP; and Rev. Dr. Kenny Kapfo, president of Mission International.
The event concluded with a demonstration of indigenous games and community customary procession by all men folk, which was followed by a mass feast.
On December 29, Pfütseromi citizens gathered within their village jurisdiction for a historic event that drew a massive crowd of around 5000 attendees, including those from outside the state.
The event also saw citizens unite, resolving to strengthen “greater unity” and stand as “One Pfütseromi” under all circumstances.
