  • DIMAPUR — The Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) organised a felicitation programme to honour the meritorious students of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2025 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education at the DC conference hall, Peren, on May 7.

  • According to a DIPR report, the felicitated students included Lungyihangle Bring (rank 1), Ichung (rank 6), Sherwin Daimai (rank 14), Pewangben Meriam (rank 16), Idabuing Iralu (rank 17), Keyisap Irangbe (rank 18), Igumlule Teilia (Governor's Awardee), Dijenliu (Governor's Awardee), and Hatnunhoi Touthang (Governor's Awardee).

  • Speaking at the felicitation programme, Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang congratulated all the meritorious candidates, particularly Lungyihangle Bring, who secured the top position in the HSLC examination. He said her success would undoubtedly serve as a huge inspiration not only for the student community of Peren District but also for students across the state.

  • He also stated that in the Peren district, where students had shown remarkable performance, the literacy rate had been steadily increasing over the years. He urged the students to continue striving for excellence, to push beyond their limits, and never to stop learning.

  • Earlier, at the DPDB meeting, following the review of the minutes from the last meeting, the application for the introduction of the Science stream at Government Higher Secondary School Jalukie was discussed, with District Education Officer, Peren, Limadanjit Aier, providing additional details on the agenda. After a thorough deliberation, the house decided to approve the proposal and forward it to the government.

  • Other agendas deliberated and approved in the meeting included the proposal for the adoption of Ngwalwa village as an arecanut village and the proposal for the use of the newly constructed eye hospital at the district headquarters as a health and wellness centre.
