- DIMAPUR — The
Modern Montessori Teachers Training Institute (MMTTI), in collaboration with
Beautiful Minds Centre for Child Development, organised a teachers' orientation
workshop on invisible disabilities in school-going children in Kohima on May
10.
- According to an update, the event brought together teachers
from various preschools and students from the teachers' training institute.
- The workshop aimed to educate and sensitise teachers about
the challenges faced by children with invisible disabilities, including speech
and language disorders, hearing loss, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning difficulties, and more.

- Henwasin Sweety Lorin, senior audiologist and
speech-language pathologist, in her keynote address, mentioned that teachers'
roles in early intervention and diagnosis are crucial.
- By educating teachers about the disorders and the importance
of early interventions, it is possible to provide better support to children
with special needs and give them the best possible start in life, she added.
- It was mentioned that the Beautiful Minds Centre for Child
Development aims to continue planning more orientations and workshops for
parents and teachers in the future.
