Mbaupunggwa FC and Lekie Mtei FC secured wins in Peren District Football League 3.0, boosting their chances of reaching the knockout stage.

DIMAPUR — Mbaupunggwa FC and defending champions Lekie Mtei FC strengthened their push for knockout qualification with wins in the Peren District Football League (PDFL 3.0) on Wednesday.
In the first match, Mbaupunggwa FC defeated Kingdom Stewards 3–1 in a closely contested game. Yirampheu opened the scoring in the 7th minute after capitalising on a goalkeeping error. Kingdom Stewards responded by controlling possession and creating chances but were unable to convert.
Haominlal equalised for Kingdom Stewards in the 64th minute, again benefiting from a defensive lapse. However, Mbaupunggwa FC regained the lead through Nrakhak in the 71st minute before Kinthuilung sealed the result with a third goal in the 81st minute. Chingthaipou of Mbaupunggwa FC was named Man of the Match.

In the second match, Lekie Mtei FC registered a 4–1 win over Football Plus Academy. Chidiheu opened the scoring in the 4th minute, assisted by Khiuwang. Lungneuying doubled the lead in the 44th minute following a defensive error, and Puiheilung added a third in stoppage time (45+2) after a move initiated by Aden.
Khiuwangbo converted a penalty in the 59th minute to extend the lead. Football Plus Academy pulled one back through Perampauying from the spot in the 67th minute after a brief stoppage due to injury. Chidiheu added his second goal in the 78th minute to complete the scoring. Khiuwangbo was named Man of the Match.
