PDFA Junior FC and Satakha FC record big wins in Capt. N Kenguruse Memorial Football Tournament

KOHIMA — PDFA Junior FC and Satakha FC emerged victorious on the sixth day of the 9th Captain Kenguruse, MVC, Memorial Football Tournament held on Wednesday at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

In the first match of the day, PDFA Junior FC defeated Sungkomen PL FC 2-0. Nrakhak opened the scoring in the 44th minute, while Chidiheu sealed the win with another goal in the 51st minute. Despite their best efforts, Sungkomen PL FC failed to find the net. PDFA Junior FC are yet to concede a goal in this tournament.

In the day’s second match, the first quarter-final, Satakha FC staged an impressive comeback to beat Phek Town FC 6-0 after initially trailing 3-1.

Phek Town FC started strongly with Tshetsho scoring in the first minute and another goal coming in the 13th minute. Veporayi added a third in the 30th minute. However, Satakha FC fought back with Tokibe scoring in the 14th and 54th minutes, while Punuvi struck twice in the 40+1 and 46th minutes. Aputo also netted a brace in the 43rd and 61st minutes.

Although Kutosheyi managed to score for Phek Town FC in the 68th minute, the side fell short by two goals to equalise.
