DIMAPUR — Project-Based Learning (PBL) Fair 2025, Nagaland, was held on the theme ‘Strengthening project-based learning and micro improvement across the state’ at Agri-Expo, Chümoukedima, on Friday.


A total of 77 government schools from Niuland, Chümoukedima, and Dimapur districts, with 320 students and 160 teachers, participated in the fair, showcasing innovative projects and creative learning outcomes.


The event was organised by the Department of School Education, in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Samagra Shiksha, Mantra for Change, Education Above All, and Shiksha Lokam – Catalysing Education Leadership.


Addressing the event as honorary guest, Advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhouloe Yhome  expressed his delight at witnessing the grand mela where children and teachers come together to showcase their projects.


The advisor remarked that the exhibition reflects a strong emphasis on project-based learning, which will greatly benefit both students and educators in various ways.

After touring the exhibition, Yhome expressed his appreciation for the students' creativity, particularly in storytelling.


He noted that many students narrated stories drawn from their real-life experiences, and added that storytelling not only enhances creativity but also nurtures empathy, kindness, and a sense of care among learners.


He lauded the integration of skills and curriculum showcased through the projects and encouraged the organisers and partners to expand such initiatives across all schools in Nagaland, and encouraged students to continue learning through creative expressions, as even simple concepts like shapes introduce new vocabulary and enhance understanding of the world.


The advisor also commended the Samagra team for their work in improving language and numeracy fluency through micro-level initiatives.


Yhome further expressed happiness over the creativity and innovation displayed by the students, noting that such experiential learning not only enhances their skills but also prepares them to meet the diverse demands of the modern world.


Commissioner & Secretary, School Education and SCERT, Kevileno Angami, and Jamithung Lotha, State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland, delivered keynote addresses.


During the programme, Joint Mission Director Dr. Bijano Murry Odyuo and Deputy Mission Director Kelhika Kenye officially launched Micro Miracles 2.0, Samagra Shiksha.


A panel discussion was also held, where teachers and students shared their experiences on how Project-Based Learning (PBL) has positively transformed their classroom practices and overall learning experience.


Earlier, Jevika Kiba, DEO & DPC, District Mission Authority, Samagra Shiksha, Dimapur, delivered the welcome address.
