Kohima Excise seized 500 cases of assorted IMFL at Khuzama check gate and arrested the driver for violating the NLTP Act.

DIMAPUR — Kohima Excise, manning the Khuzama inter-state check gate, seized 500 cases of assorted IMFL on October 15 around 7.26 am.
According to Venezolu Dawhuo, deputy commissioner of Excise (Zonal), Kohima, a check gate duty party intercepted a truck bearing registration number NI-01AK-1796 while conducting routine vehicle checks.
Upon thorough inspection, 500 cases of assorted IMFL were recovered, neatly concealed under bags of essential commodities.
In this connection, the driver of the vehicle, Rashidul Islam (20), son of Md. Siddique, a resident of Golpara district, Assam, was apprehended for violating the NLTP Act. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the NLTP Act, 1989.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly loaded the consignment from Dimapur and was supposed to deliver it to Imphal.
