DIMAPUR — The Department of Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), held its 5th photography exhibition at the National Service Scheme (NSS) Park, New Campus, Patkai, on Thursday.
The exhibition, held on the theme “Language of colours in silent geometry”, was part of the academic curriculum for second-semester BA Mass Communication students.
According to an update, a total of 24 photographs exhibited on the day were sold. Notably, 13 frames were purchased within the first hour of the exhibition’s opening. The event witnessed a turnout of over 300 faculty, students, and well-wishers who formally registered.

Proceeds from the exhibition will be dedicated to supporting the sixth edition of the 3-day Campus Film Festival, scheduled to take place next year and organised by the same batch of the Mass Communication department.
Earlier on the day, Akangsenla, controller of examinations (COE), inaugurated the exhibition and termed it a valuable platform through which students can express their individuality and creativity.
“Photography is not just academic work but a true form of art and creative expression,” she said. The event, she added, gave students the opportunity to share their unique vision and go beyond classroom learning.
The event aimed to encourage appreciation of the world around us. Therali Kithan, event manager and second-semester Mass Communication student, highlighted the concept behind the exhibition, explaining that colours and structures carry unspoken truths and meanings.
The interactive session saw attendees engage directly with the artists, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the stories behind each frame.
