DIMAPUR — The Department of Mass Communication hosted the inaugural of the fifth edition of the three-day Campus Film Festival at the Bundrock Chapel at Patkai Christian College campus in Chümoukedima on Thursday.
According to an update, the inaugural event was followed by a filmmaking and photography workshop, presented by Sony, one of the festival’s key collaborators.
Md Noor Alam, a Sony C-Pro specialist, led the first session, sharing expert insights on camera technology. He covered the essentials of photography and cinematography, exploring different cameras and lenses and how to get the most out of them.
Noor highlighted the importance of understanding the relationship between subject and background to create balanced and visually striking compositions.

The second session featured Saroj Kumar Dora, Sony Alpha specialist, who spoke about the endless journey of learning in the creative field. He described it as a beautiful, ongoing adventure for filmmakers and visual storytellers. To illustrate his point, Saroj screened a travel video that highlighted the blend of creativity and technical skill in real-world filmmaking.
The key highlight of the second day of the event will be a workshop on film production with Tyrel Reuben Lyngdoh, a filmmaker from Meghalaya, as the resource person.
Later that evening, the festival showcased eight short films from filmmakers across the Northeast, bringing diverse stories to the screen.
